Terms of service

These terms govern your use of SonaWise (the "App"), provided by 1699 Ltd., a company registered in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (company number 11834362) ("we", "us", "our").

By using the App you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the App.

What the App does

SonaWise lets you record your gold jewellery items — photos, weights, purchase details — and shows you what they're worth based on third-party gold price data.

Your account

• You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.
• One account per person.
• The information you give us must be accurate.
• You're responsible for everything that happens on your account.

Your content

Photos and item details you upload remain yours. You give us a limited licence to host and display them back to you within the App. We don't claim ownership and we don't share your content with third parties except as described in our privacy policy.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for anything illegal.
• Try to break, reverse-engineer, or get unauthorised access to the App.
• Scrape, copy, or republish data from the App.
• Upload content that infringes anyone else's rights.
• Use the App to harass or harm others.

Paid features

Some features of the App may be offered as paid subscriptions. When they are:

• Billing. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. We don't see or store your payment details.
• Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before then. On Apple, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. On Google Play, you can cancel any time before the renewal date. Your Apple or Google account will be charged the renewal fee at confirmation of purchase.
• Cancellation. You can cancel any time through your Apple ID account settings or your Google Play subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
• Free trials. If a free trial is offered, you'll see the trial length and the price that applies after the trial before you start it. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
• Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective policies. Contact them directly for refund requests.
• Price changes. We'll notify you in the App before any price increase takes effect. If you don't want to pay the new price, you can cancel.

Specific subscription details (names, prices, billing periods, trial lengths) are shown in the App at the point of purchase.

Disclaimers

The App is provided as is. We don't guarantee uninterrupted service, completeness or accuracy of valuations, or that the App will meet every need.

The valuations the App shows are estimates based on third-party gold-price data. They are not financial advice. Don't rely on the App alone for insurance claims, probate, tax, legal proceedings, or any other formal valuation. For those purposes, get a professional appraisal.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses (e.g. lost profits or lost data).
• Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you've paid us in the previous 12 months. If you haven't paid us anything, our total liability is zero.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud or for anything we can't lawfully exclude (such as death or personal injury caused by our negligence under English law).

Indemnity

You agree to compensate us for third-party claims that arise directly from your breach of these terms or your unlawful use of the App. This indemnity doesn't apply to losses we cause through our own negligence, fraud, or breach, and nothing in it limits rights you have under applicable consumer law.

Termination

You can stop using the App and delete your account any time from Settings.

We can suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or use the App in a way that puts us or other users at risk.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If changes are material we'll notify you in the App before they take effect. Continuing to use the App after the changes means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be heard in the English courts.

If you live in another country, you keep any consumer rights you have under your local law that we can't override by contract.
